MnCUN strategic alliances benefit Network and credit unions

Through its strategic alliances, MnCUN's Network Service Corporation (NSC) offers credit unions guidance on finding service providers that offer quality, member-focused products and services. In addition to fulfilling individual credit unions' service needs, these strategic alliances help to provide revenue to the Network, which in turn allows MnCUN to enhance services to members.

Currently, MnCUN's endorsed vendors provide the following services to credit unions:

  • check processing
  • debit and credit cards
  • gift cards (VISA)
  • cell phone discounts
  • financial counseling
  • insurance products
  • policies (operational)
  • ATM and branch expansion options
  • compliance assistance
  • and a full suite of mortgage products and service offerings

MnCUN encourages credit unions to consider the NSC's strategic alliances when they are seeking a new service provider. Credit unions should conduct due diligence on these and other service providers and choose the organization that is right for their credit union. However, if a strategic alliance company is comparable to another organization, selecting the NSC-endorsed vendor helps to return revenue to the NSC.

CSS alliance with Silanis e-Signatures bring benefits to credit unions

CUNA Strategic Services, Inc. (CSS) has chosen Silanis Technologyas its exclusive electronic signature provider for U.S. credit unions. Through this alliance, credit unions will benefit from significantly reduced pricing and the reassurance that CSS has done extensive due diligence and chosen an electronic signature solution appropriate to address the unique needs of credit unions.

CSS sought an alliance in this product set because it recognizes as the pressure mounts for credit unions to stay compliant with changing regulations, they must also continue to find new growth opportunities, especially with the youth market. CSS recognizes these challenges and, through this program to offer Silanis’ e-SignLive™, is providing access to technology that will help credit unions improve compliance, reduce risk, and lessen operational costs, said Wes Millar, CSS senior vice president.

"Electronic signatures can help credit unions expedite new member on-boarding and loan processing for members while ensuring business rules and compliance standards are being met,” said Millar. "Silanis is a proven leader in the industry, processing more than 600 million documents annually.”

Silanis recently started working with Sharonview FCU, a $1.03 billion-asset credit union in Fort Mill, S.C, to automate the secure delivery of mortgage disclosures. In a press release, Chief Information Officer Mark Johnson said e-signatures will help the credit union serve its widespread membership and move to straight-through processing.
