MN CU Foundation offers $7,500 in grants, deadline Oct. 1
The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation is offering $7,500 in grants to assist Minnesota credit unions in implementing financial education projects. With its strong commitment to financial education, these grants are part of the Foundation’s mission to provide resources for credit unions and communities to prosper and thrive.
Don’t miss this opportunity to augment your credit union’s financial education efforts or launch a new partnership! Grant applications are being accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The Foundation Board of Directors will evaluate applications based on a variety of factors, including credit union value, community impact, collaboration, creativity, and past involvement in and support of Foundation activities. Projects/initiatives must have measurable outcomes and a written follow-up report must be submitted within 30 days of the project completion.

Miracle Jeans Day t-Shirt deadline – this week!
Miracle Jeans Day is the next Credit Unions for Kids’ national fundraiser. Encourage your employees to donate $5 to wear jeans on September 10. With a $25 donation, employees will receive a free Miracle Jeans Day t-shirt, specially designed for credit unions. This year, CU4Kids also has pre-preprinted stickers and special free paper icons specifically designed for Miracle Jeans Day, so members can celebrate too!
Please be sure to register your credit union today.
If your credit union is participating in Miracle Jeans Day, please note the deadline to receive t-shirts in time for Miracle Jeans Day is approaching quickly. The $25 donations must be received by the CMN Hospitals office in Salt Lake City on or before Aug. 22 in order for staff to receive their shirts in time for Miracle Jeans Day. Please use this order form when sending in your donations for shirts.
Alternatively, your credit union can bulk order t-shirts through the new Miracle Jeans Day store.

Business Journal seeks top C-suite talent for CEO of the Year
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal is seeking nominations for its annual Executive of the Year Award. The honoree will be featured in the first issue of 2015.
The honor will be awarded to a chief executive of a Minnesota company who has a long track record of business success. He or she must have made outstanding contributions to a Minnesota company, an industry and the community. In keeping with the Business Journal’s mission, the executive must have been an important figure in news of the past year.
