Regardless of whether the country is in a period of recession, expansion or some stage in between, it is vital for credit union employees to have a firm understanding of financial principles. The Minnesota Credit Union Network’s Building Relevancy through Strategic Planning School will blend theory with practical application to provide professionals with a thorough understanding of the fiscal aspects of the credit union.

Geared toward those who directly or indirectly work to strengthen the credit union’s bottom line, this training blends theory with practical application to provide a thorough understanding of the fiscal aspects of your credit union. During the discussion, attendees will examine:

  • The need for a vision statement and member promise for the future – Review the purpose of vision statements and discuss ways to put new life in uninspiring visions.
  • Membership growth and relationships – Investigate growth charts, five-year member growth goals, how to build loan relationships, and tactics for increasing the average total relationships per member.
  • Building relevancy with members – Explore the current economic climate and its effects on consumers, ways to create member loyalty and member advocates, and how to deliver insightful financial solutions versus just taking orders.
