Thorough, well-written power-of-attorney (POA) procedures can protect members and credit unions against litigation. This webinar will cover power-of-attorney hotspots and how to prevent costly mistakes when handling these high-risk documents. Attendees will learn about:

  • POA types such as springing, durable, specific and military
  • POAs on treasury checks
  • POA affidavits, recording and accepting the role
  • Durable versus nondurable POA risks
  • POA rights: opening safe deposit boxes, signing signature cards, removing authorized signers
  • Court-appointed conservator versus a POA
