During the first quarter of 2012, MnCUN worked together with the Filene Research Institute to develop a Minnesota-specific study that investigates how credit unions can attract and retain younger members. This research provides credit union recommends of practical actions that Minnesota credit unions can take to more effectively reach 18‐34 year olds. In addition to the written report, credit unions can gain insight from this research through MnCUN's Generation Y Research webinar series.

The first webinar focuses on the young adult challenge and how to identify their needs. Everyone knows that adding younger members make sense for credit unions, but knowing is only half the battle. What do young adults actually want from their financial institutions? The Filene Research Institute dissects the mind of the youthful consumer in this 90 minute webinar. The Young Adult Challenge & Identifying Their Needs will deliver details of Filene's Minnesota-specific youth data, along with other research they've spent years to develop. Attendees will also receive tools their credit union can use to attract and retain this segment.
