Taxation advocacy efforts have ramped up in the past several weeks as Congress is considering a major reform of the U.S. tax code, and there is a real threat to credit unions’ tax status. Credit unions need to provide a formidable grassroots response to ensure that it prevails in any reform of the tax code.

The Minnesota Credit Union Network will host the conference call Thursday, May 30, at 2 p.m. This conference call will discuss the current climate for tax reform in Congress and the "Don't Tax My Credit Union" campaign, which was launched last week. It is critical that Minnesota credit unions participate in this conference call with the Network to hear our concerns about maintaining the credit union corporate income tax exemption.

The conference call is free, but pre-registration is required. Credit union professionals and volunteers from all levels are welcome to participate.
