Many credit union staff have heard, and many times witnessed, how vulnerable adults are taken advantage of financially by family members, fiduciaries, and con artists.  In response to this pervasive issue, the Minnesota Credit Union Network is hosting a free Elder Financial Abuse forum.  This session will include a panel of stakeholders in Minnesota who are battling this epidemic to discuss how to identify and report to the appropriate agencies suspicion of elder financial abuse, and will provide additional resource information on this topic.  The panel, moderated by Hubert H. "Skip" Humphrey III- the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Senior Liaison Officer, will include representatives from AARP Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the Minnesota Department of Human Services-Adult Protective Services, and the newly created Vulnerable Adult Justice Project at William Mitchell College of Law

Participation is available in person or via webinar.  There is no charge for this event, however registration is required.

At the conclusion of the forum, in-person attendees will be able to join their peers and the panel of experts for an additional networking opportunity to discuss elder financial abuse and other topics that the participants wish to discuss. A complimentary lunch will be provided to in-person attendees.
