Mobile app enhancements allow for seamless fit into members’ lives

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union – SAINT PAUL, Minn. (February 3, 2016) – Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union launched three enhancements to its mobile app in 2015, including E-Pay, an electronic bill payment service, consumer lending, and person-to-person payments (P2P), adding convenience and improved accessibility for members who access their accounts from a mobile device.
“Affinity Plus is committed to providing our members with a safe, convenient, and easy way to access to their accounts,” shares President and CEO Dave Larson. “Our mobile platform gives us the opportunity to serve our members when it works them.”
Members of Affinity Plus are familiar with E-Pay and consumer lending because the services have been available in the credit union’s online banking system, which prompted their desire for the services to be offered in the mobile app. E-Pay allows members to electronically send bill payments to designated payees without an envelope or stamp, and consumer lending allows them to electronically submit a loan application. The services became available in the mobile app in November, and since that time 1,223 members have paid 2,851 bills using E-Pay and 577 loan applications have been submitted.
Person-to-person payments (P2P) was a new service offered by Affinity Plus when it launched in December 2015. Members responded positively to the new feature, using it 141 times to transfer more than $53,000 since it was introduced. Available in both online and mobile banking, P2P allows members to electronically transfer funds to family and friends who have accounts elsewhere using their phone number or email address – no specific account information is needed.
