Sun Current © April 11, 2016 – Richfield Bloomington Credit Union has received an award from a national trade organization for its efforts to educate students on financial literacy.
RBCU recently received the Credit Union National Association’s Diamond Award in recognition of its five-component
curriculum, which covers elements such as budgeting and managing credit.
The program is available to anyone at rbcu.org and features resources including interest calculators and games involving sample budgets. The program is being promoted in Richfield and Bloomington school districts.
“After one class our site visits jumped from 45 to over 5,000 over 30 days time lapse,” said Richfield Bloomington Credit Union representative Toni Gerard.
A grant from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation partially funded the program.
