Heard on the Street: First Alliance CEO receives top honor

Rochester Post-Bulletin (May 5, 2016) - First Alliance Credit Union President/CEO Kelly McDonough has been named Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network.
The award recognizes someone who has "selflessly given time, effort and talent to the support and promotion of the credit union ideal and the betterment of credit unions in Minnesota," according to the MCUN.
In McDonough's 13 years of leadership, First Alliance Credit Union has grown to more than $150 million in assets and more than 13,000 members. McDonough is an active political advocate for credit unions. Her commitment to credit unions flows into her commitment to her employees as well.
Under McDonough's leadership, First Alliance has been awarded the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility five times since 2008, placing the credit union in the top 10 percent of companies to work for nationwide.
First Alliance Credit Union is a full service financial cooperative, founded in 1932 by Rochester firefighters, and now serves the southeastern Minnesota counties of Olmsted, Dodge, Goodhue, Wabasha, and Winona. — From staff report.
