CU Today (May 10, 2016) -
St. Cloud FCU has launched a new community recognition program: ChangeMakers: Giving back to those who make a difference.
The program is being launched in partnership with St. Cloud Times Media and is intended to highlight people who may get little recognition while doing great things in the community, the CU stated.
For 10 weeks, one person will be selected to receive the recognition, which includes a news story and $500. SCFCU said the recognition program was designed for individuals who take their own initiative to fulfill a need or improve the community; who provide a service to others while demonstrating they connect those in need with someone who can help, and who demonstrate they put others before themselves while showing service efforts are ongoing.
“Our mission is to make a meaningful difference, what better way than to highlight and inspire the work of people who use their time and resources to help other people,” stated Jed A. Meyer, President and CEO of St. Cloud Federal Credit Union.
The credit union is funding the program and was proud to award the first winner, Fawn Wright of Project Linus. Ms. Wright has spent years making blankets and giving them to police and firefighters in the area to give to children during times of crisis.
