Friday, May 6, 2016
Anoka Hennepin Credit Union - Coon Rapids, MN (May 6, 2016) - Anoka Hennepin Credit Union (AHCU) is proud to announce it has recently incorporated its new SPIRIT FOUNDATION.
The primary mission of the SPIRIT FOUNDATION will be to support extra-curricular programs at Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Centennial, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Forest Lake and St. Francis High Schools. The foundation will also support local youth focused organizations such as the Enitan Story, HOPE4YOUTH, Bikes4Kids, Fiona’s Hope, and Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau.
“AHCU was inspired by our members to do more,” stated AHCU CEO Jeff Claussen. “The teachers, coaches, parents and students who fight to fund school activities when budgets are tight. The local founders of HOPE4YOUTH, Bikes4Kids, Fiona’s Hope and the Enitan Story who give selflessly of themselves.”
“Ultimately, the mission of the AHCU SPIRIT FOUNDATION will be to provide resources to high schools and community groups to help local kids pursue their dreams,” asserted Claussen. “We don’t want dreams or vital programs to end simply because they cost too much.”
Enterprise Car Sales surprised Claussen that evening by presenting the SPIRIT FOUNDATION with its first official contribution. Additional revenue for the SPIRIT FOUNDATION will be generated through the AHCU SPIRIT Checking program which donates 5% of the swipe fee from the eight custom high school logoed debit cards AHCU offers. Money is also generated through school logoed checks offered by AHCU. The SPIRIT FOUNDATION will also accept tax-deductible donations directly from the public (members or non-members), host fundraising events and seek corporate/government grants.
