Firefly to Host Two Youth Financial Education Seminars in September

Firefly Credit Union - BURNSVILLE, Minn. (September 1, 2016) - Firefly Credit Union will be celebrating youth during September to encourage early financial literacy. Financial education is an important skill at any stage in life; Firefly looks to help illuminate community youth on the subjects of money management, budgeting and saving with the following youth seminars:
Personal Finance 101 for Children – September 22, 2016 at 6 p.m.
At this seminar, youth in the community will have the opportunity to learn more about money with lessons aimed to fit their developmental stage. The seminar, which is recommended for children ages 8-12, will cover the work-money connection, saving for goals, interest, credit and more! Financial Milestones for Teens – September 29, 2016 at 6 p.m.
This seminar will help prepare teens for the adult money world by helping them to navigate the “firsts” – paychecks, credit cards, and budgets. RSVP by September 26 by registering online at fireflycu.org/events.
In addition to these seminars, which will both be held at Firefly Credit Union’s corporate office located at 1400 Riverwood Drive in Burnsville, Minn., members who open youth savings and checking accounts in September will receive account opening bonuses. These members, as well as those who make a deposit to an existing youth account during Youth Month, will be entered to win the Illuminated Savings Prize Package, which includes four (4) ride passes to Nickelodeon Universe, a $25 gift certificate to Hard Rock Café, and a Kindle Fire.
