St. Cloud Federal Credit Union - ST. CLOUD, Minnesota (September 28, 2016) - St. Cloud Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the launch of their new EMV chip debit cards with a unique, vertical card design. The new EMV chip cards are a form of security replacing credit and debit cards to help increase consumer security. This technology offers enhanced security features with mini computerized chips, which create a unique identifier to make card purchases more secure.
Last year the credit union launched a new brand package and solidifies the updated brand with a unique, vertical debit card design. With the new chip technology requiring consumers to insert their card into a machine, St. Cloud Federal Credit Union’s vertical design is easy to use with the new vertical orientation of chip design. While the chip is inserted into and waiting in the machine, the credit union’s logo is visible.
President and CEO Jed A. Meyer commented that, “We are excited to launch our new EMV chip debit cards with the vertical design for a couple reasons. First, chip security offers the highest form of consumer security so it was a necessity for us to offer that to our members. Additionally, our brand has an innovative spirit and this unique design demonstrates that and will allow our logo to be more visible.”
