Thursday, October 06, 2016
Hiway Federal Credit Union - ST. PAUL, Minn. (October 6, 2016) - As the presenting partner of the Minnesota Hockey Recreational Hockey League (Rec League), Hiway Federal Credit Union (Hiway) is excited to enter the second season with Minnesota Hockey’s fastest growing program.
Minnesota Hockey is a leader in introducing the game of hockey to new players of all ages. The goal of the partnership is to encourage even more kids in the Twin Cities metro area to experience ice hockey by allowing them to participate in a recreational setting. The league provides players with an opportunity to participate with their friends in a fun, safe and affordable environment, while also enabling them to be involved with other activities.
The Rec League has grown from 71 players to more than 550 in just seven seasons, making it the fastest growing classification within Minnesota Hockey. For the upcoming season, the Rec League will offer four levels of play (12 & Under, 14 & Under, 16 & Under and 18 & Under).
“As a partner of the Minnesota Wild, Hiway is proud to be named as the official credit union of Minnesota Hockey,” said Dave Boden, Hiway President/CEO. “Hiway recognizes the unique role hockey plays in Minnesota's culture and we’re excited to play a key role in encouraging more kids to play hockey as the presenting partner of Minnesota Hockey's Recreation League. We also understand that the sport can be very expensive and are here to support families with their savings and financing needs on the road of life.”
