Wings Financial Credit Union - MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (September 7, 2017) - Junior Achievement of Upper Midwest announced that Trysh Olson, Education & Youth Program Manager at Wings Financial, has been honored for the third year in a row with the organization’s top award for outstanding volunteers, the JA Hero Award.
The purpose of the JA Hero Award is to recognize the Junior Achievement (JA) volunteer who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the organization’s mission of inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Trysh taught the most classes of any JA volunteer during the 2016-17 school year, mentoring 2,053 local students in 75 classes. JA volunteers serve as role models to students by sharing their personal and professional experiences and expertise.
“Trysh is a wonderful example of how one person can make such a huge difference in the lives of young people in our community,” said Gina Blayney, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Upper Midwest.
According to a recent survey conducted by Junior Achievement USA®, 99 percent of JA volunteers would recommend volunteering with JA to a friend or colleague, and 98 percent found their volunteer experience to be rewarding and fulfilling.
