The Crew yields highest attendance at St. Paul Saints event

Last week, members of the Minnesota Credit Union Network young professionals group, The Crew, gathered for a picnic and CULAC (Credit Union Legislative Action Committee) fundraiser at the Saint Paul Saints baseball game at CHS Field. Crew members had the chance to network while discussing various political issues, obstacles and opportunities their credit unions face.

“We at MnCUN have been pleased to see participation in the Crew grow every year,” said MnCUN President & CEO Mark Cummins. “It is great to see so many young credit union professionals in Minnesota engaged with the industry and seeking opportunities to grow professionally.”

With 50 Crew members in attendance, the event at the St. Paul Saints baseball game was the highest attended event since the Crew began.

The Crew is a group for young professionals – under 40 years old - working in the credit union movement in Minnesota. The Minnesota Credit Union Network hosts special sessions for Crew members at major MnCUN events as well as standalone Crew education sessions, networking events, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. More information about the group is available on the Crew page of the MnCUN website.

Minnesota Credit Union Foundation holds annual membership meeting, approves two board candidates

Recently, the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation held its annual membership meeting during the MnCUN board meeting. Two board seats were up for election with incumbents from both seats seeking to run for final three year terms.

The Foundation’s membership voted to approve two candidates to the Foundation Board:

  • Pat Brekken, Richfield‐Bloomington Credit Union (RBCU) - Pat was first elected to the Foundation Board in 2010, and was appointed Chair at that time
  •  Dave Larson, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union - Dave was first elected to the Foundation Board in 2010, and currently serves as the Board’s Chair

“Both Pat and Dave have been strong leaders in steering the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation,” said MnCUF Executive Director Lyndsay Miller. “I would like to thank them for their dedication to the foundation’s efforts to support Minnesota’s credit unions and communities.”

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF) is an organization dedicated to providing the resources for credit unions and communities to prosper and thrive.

Founded in 1969 by the Minnesota Credit Union Network, MnCUF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization governed by a seven-member board of directors from various Minnesota credit unions.
