CUNA Mutual Group’s seventh annual, day-long Discovery Conference is Oct. 18. The virtual, no-cost event offers credit union leaders a chance to learn how to harness the power of data, a sneak peek at new research, and valuable industry insight and trends in the insurance and credit union industries, including Generation C.

The conference will be held in Eagan on Wednesday, October 26. Join Steven Rick, Chief Economist for CUNA Mutual Group; and Tom Slefinger, Senior Vice President and Director of Institutional Fixed Income Sales for Balance Sheet Solutions as they lead discussions on the state of the U.S. economy. Minnesota Credit Union Network President & CEO Mark Cummins will also present, providing an update on the association and credit unions in the state.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Family Involvement Council (FIC) scholarship program. This year, the council will be awarding $10,000 in the form of four $1,000 and 12 $500 scholarships to a total of 16 credit union members. Any member of a Minnesota Credit Union Network affiliated credit union pursuing post-secondary education in the fall 2017/spring 2018 is eligible to apply.
Applications are being accepted online with a submission deadline of Feb. 1, 2017.
Each year at the MnCUN Annual Meeting, the FIC holds a silent auction with items and monetary donations donated by Minnesota’s credit unions and businesses. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the silent auction go toward the scholarship programs.
The FIC has various materials available to help credit unions promote the 2017 scholarship program to members. Visit the scholarships section for marketing materials and best practices to promote the program.
The FIC, a committee of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation, strives to build credit union brand awareness and strengthen member relationships through their scholarship program. Since its inauguration in 1997, the FIC has benefited 303 credit union members with $166,500 in scholarships.
