Plus it Forward, a spin on the widely popular concept of Pay it Forward, was created by Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in 2013 with the intent selecting one day out of the year to scatter kindness in communities throughout Minnesota – and encourage others to do the same. This year’s Plus It Forward Day will be held on Monday, Oct. 10 (Columbus Day), and all credit unions are invited to participate. Currently, 25 credit unions and the Minnesota Credit Union Network are scheduled to participate in 2016 Plus it Forward activities.
Participation in Plus It Forward Day is very customizable and turn-key, from the activities each credit union selects, what the credit union calls it, and whether the credit union is open or closed on this day. Additional information is available in a 30-minute overview recording on the Plus It Forward collaboration website.

Credit unions seeking to build community partnerships to offer more products and services can get valuable information in an upcoming webinar hosted by the National Credit Union Administration.
The 90-minute webinar, “High-Impact Community Partnerships,” will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. Eastern. Online registration is available online. Participants will use this same link to log into the webinar. Registrants should allow pop-ups from this website. There is no charge.

The Life Simulation experience is designed to help credit union employees, volunteers and leadership begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month. The simulation will help participants understand the stress that living in a low-wage house-hold causes, and the lasting personal, emotional, and ﬁnancial toll it takes on members.
This free event is hosted by the Minnesota Credit Union Network young professionals group, The Crew, and supported by the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation. Credit union employees of all ages and at any stage in their professional journey are encouraged to attend the event.

Since 2009, Miracle Jeans Day has encouraged groups and individuals alike to trade their traditional work attire for jeans and help raise funds for kids treated at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in their area. Since its beginning, Miracle Jeans Day has raised more than $4 million to help fund life-saving medical needs in Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
