Tellers deal with many types of checks: government, insurance, cashier's checks etc. Each carries its own restrictions and requirements, and there are different rules for endorsing checks for deceased members, minors, guardianships and others. Tellers must understand the proper way to handle checks from trusts, estates and business accounts.

In this session, learn the applicable rules to handling checks and investigate the answers to the following questions:

  • Who can endorse a check for a minor or a deceased person?
  • Can a trustee deposit a check into a personal account?
  • Can cash be given back on business checks?
