Introducing High Yield Pale Ale
A collaboration brewed for a cause.
In celebration of our 100th anniversary—and the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives—we’re raising a glass to the power of working together.
The Minnesota Credit Union Network has teamed up with Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative, a member-owned brewery in Minneapolis, to launch High Yield Pale Ale: a special-release beer brewed by a cooperative, for cooperatives.
Why a beer?
Because it’s fun, flavorful, and the perfect symbol of what we stand for: community, collaboration, and doing good together. Credit unions and craft brewers might not seem like obvious partners. But we share something big in common--a commitment to people over profit. This beer is a tribute to that shared mission and to Cooperative Principle #6: Cooperation Among Cooperatives. It's proof that when local organizations come together, great things happen.
Every Pint with a Purpose
Even better? A portion of proceeds from High Yield Pale Ale supports the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation, funding financial literacy and empowerment initiatives across the state. That means every time you enjoy a pint you're helping build brighter financial futures for Minnesotans. It’s a conversation starter, a celebration in a can, and a great way to bring people together around a shared mission.
Where to Find It
High Yield Pale Ale will be available throughout 2025 at credit union events, community festivals, and select locations around Minnesota - including Broken Clock's Taproom. High Yield is also available at the following locations. Check back as we will continue to add to this growing list!
Bring High Yield Pale Ale to your own credit union gatherings, community events, or simply enjoy it with members who want to toast to the credit union difference. Connect with Broken Clock Cooperative Brewing to learn more about how to bring it to your community.
Why It Matters
In today’s world, people want to support brands that stand for something. High Yield Pale Ale reflects the credit union difference in a fresh, approachable way. It’s a celebration of 100 years of people helping people—and a toast to the next 100.
So grab a glass, raise it high, and cheers to collaboration that creates real impact. High Yield Pale Ale — brewed in Minnesota, fueled by purpose.

Credit Unions Do More
Overall, 2 million Minnesotans are member-owners of the state’s credit unions. That means they have more say in how their money is invested, and how it can help their communities. As not-for-profit financial cooperatives, credit unions typically offer higher savings rates, lower loan rates and have lower and fewer fees, compared with other traditional institutions.
