In this session we’re going to consider the technology-related forces converging on the credit union industry: generative AI; cryptocurrency; blockchain; VR; AR; machine learning, open banking. All of this new tech builds on once sexy, now boring developments that are hitting their strides: digitization, miniaturization; mobile phones; high-speed Internet; big data; APIs; wireless. Not to mention the wildcard: government intervention. Where will it all lead? What will credit unions look like in 5, 10, 15 years? Will they find themselves the masters of the consumer market, serving members with personalized AI assistants, or slaves to their fintech partners?
