36 Minnesota Credit Union Professionals to Receive Financial Counseling Certifications

ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 24, 2018) – This week, 36 professionals representing 12 of Minnesota’s credit unions began financial counseling training through a program supported by the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF). The Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) is a unique partnership between MnCUF, the National Credit Union Foundation's REAL Solutions program, the Credit Union National Association Center for Professional Development, and credit unions to train staff to give professional financial counseling and education to help members better prepare for their future and to assist when they are faced with financial difficulties.
“Credit unions are dedicated to improving their members’ lives,” said Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Andrea Molnau. “We at the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation are proud to provide training that will help them do just that.”
Following successfully completion of program curriculum and proctored exams, participants will be certified as Credit Union Certified Financial Counselors ready and able to assist credit union members reach their financial goals.
The Enhanced FiCEP program is being offered to credit unions in the state at a discounted rate through a Minnesota Credit Union Foundation grant. Complete program information is available on the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation website (mncun.org/FiCEP).
