KVSC 88.1 FM (October 10, 2018) - On Columbus Day, the St. Cloud Federal Credit Union closed its branches. However, instead of just being closed, they decided to help the community.
The credit union says a team of around 60 employees helped four local non-profit organizations as part of their 4th annual Community Day.
They helped Quiet Oaks Hospice with baking and facility cleaning, Becky's Troop Care Packages with assembly and care package creation, Broken Roads Ranch with painting and stable cleaning, and Feeding Area Children Together with packing meals for children.
The theme for Community Day was "Be Kind. Do Good."
Community Day saw credit unions all across Minnesota participate in their communities on Columbus Day during the federal holiday.
