BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Credit Union Network presented the Outstanding Credit Union Volunteer of the Year Award to Jerry Schleicher of Minnco Credit Union. The award was presented at a ceremony held during the MnCUN 2019 Annual Conference last week in Bloomington.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to a credit union volunteer who best represents the credit union spirit through dedication to, and belief in, the credit union movement.
Schleicher has served on the credit union’s board of directors for 22 years and has been chair since 2011. A longtime member of Minnco Credit Union himself, Jerry’s mother was one of the first employees of the credit union and his father was a past board member and chair.
“The Minnesota Credit Union Network is pleased to honor Jerry Schleicher for his commitment to the credit union movement, “said MnCUN President & CEO Mark Cummins. “Jerry is a deserving recipient of this award and we are thankful for his involvement in our industry.”
During his tenure on the board of directors, Minnco has expanded from one branch to five and added an administrative building. The number of members, assets and services at the credit union has more than tripled under his leadership. Schleicher is a recipient of the CUNA Board of Directors Award, the Credit Union Management Award and the Edward A. Filene Award.
