Minnesota Credit Unions Remember Gene Carroll

St. Paul, Minn. – Funeral services will be held this week for Gene Carroll, former President & CEO of Pipefitters Steamfitters Credit Union. Gene served the Minnesota credit union movement for over 40 years; including 20 years as a Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN) Board member. Gene retired in 2007.
Gene was a very active within the credit union system throughout his career. He was elected to numerous terms on the MnCUN Board beginning in 1973 and concluding in 1996, and spent two of those years as Board Chair. Gene has also served on the Minnesota Item Processing Corporation (now TruLync) Board of Directors from its inception in 1994 until 2007; and represented credit unions at the national level on CUNA’s Board of Directors from 1986-1992.
In addition to these leadership roles, he was also a member of the MnCUN Political Involvement Committee; a member of Minnesota Corporate Credit Union’s Board of Directors; active in the River Cities Chapter; and involved in countless other activities and organizations.
In 2001, Gene was awarded the Minnesota Credit Union Network’s Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in recognition of his time, effort and talent to the support the credit union mission.
