Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union Exceeds Impression Goals in Minnesota

The Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® Awareness Initiative is designed to raise consumer consideration of credit unions as a category. The campaign’s national digital-first strategy positions research-proven messages to disprove consumer myths associated with the ability to join and access to money. Open Your Eyes is running social media and online ads across various platforms including Facebook and Instagram to raise awareness among consumers. In addition, an extensive out of home marketing effort includes billboards, busses, bathroom ads and events throughout the state. Six months into the campaign, we have already exceeded our impression goals – reaching over 34 million impressions digitally and 120 million impressions through the out of home efforts.

“We are pleased with the results thus far, and are excited to see the impact of continued efforts – including our presence at the Minnesota State Fair, ” said Mark Cummins, President and CEO. “We also look forward to measuring the influence of the ads on attitudes and consideration of credit unions, which we plan to measure via a consumer survey at the end of year.”

Credit unions are encouraged to help spread the word. Financial contributors to the campaign have access to Open Your Eyes branded marketing materials that can be used online and in branch. All credit unions have access to the Messaging Guide and can share social media content.
