Minnesota Credit Union Employees Unite for Acts of Kindness

KSTP (October 14, 2019) - At least 4,000 Minnesota credit union employees volunteered 20,000 hours of service to spread kindness Monday. It's all part of the growing annual event, "CU FORWARD" Day.
Credit unions across the state came together to spread kindness through volunteerism and outreach in the communities they serve.
At Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park, it's always time to give. Dozens of volunteers from different credit unions packed sacks of potatoes to give to families in need.
Across the state, some volunteers went to different organizations to lend a helping hand. Some volunteers created tie blankets and heat wraps for patients at Minnesota Oncology, others were at senior living centers helping with holiday decor.
Those who come to the event every year said they're happy to do so.
"This is one of my favorite days of the year, honestly. Because you see everybody looking and working together to see what they can do to help out the community, so I think it's worthwhile," Kindy Gajeski, with CU Recovery.
