RBCU Awarded Diamond Award for Financial Literacy for Generation Z

RBCU (April 5, 2016) – RBCU was awarded The 2016 CUNA Diamond Award for its Financial Literacy Program at this year’s National Conference.  The Program includes an online, a 5-component educational  curriculum, phone wallets, gift-card incentives, and two videos.  Some of the elements covered include essentials such as; budgeting, the cost of things, and managing credit.  The entire program is available at and partners with CUNA Googolplex for high-tech gamification, such as sample budget games and interest/payment calculators.  The automated access makes the program available to everyone, regardless of membership.  Website-based point of contact provides measurable analytics. ” After one class our site visits jumped from 45 to over 5,000 over 30 days time lapse,” said RBCU employee, Toni Gerard.  The program is now being provided free of cost to students in both the Richfield and Bloomington, MN, school districts.  Our content meets Minnesota high school standards for financial literacy education and comply with school electronic privacy laws.  This program was partially funded by a grant from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation.
