Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union – ST. PAUL, MINN. (March 25, 2016) – This week Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union hosted its 86th Annual Meeting of the Membership at its headquarters in St. Paul. The Board of Directors, employees, and members celebrated a successful 2015 and looked with excitement and anticipation to the future.

President/CEO Dave Larson gave his annual “state of the credit union” address, highlighting Affinity Plus’ financial performance, focus areas, and business accomplishments. He also spoke about the changing financial industry – specifically through online and mobile banking – and the opportunity that digital channels provide to revolutionize banking and make the member experience more convenient.

“We have experienced a skyrocketing adoption rate of our mobile and online banking channels in the past few years, yet we have much room to grow,” Larson said. “We have invested – and will continue to invest – a great deal of time and resources to make improvements and enhance functionality, while maintaining our commitment to our branch network, which is the largest for any credit union in Minnesota.”

Larson referenced new features recently added to Affinity Plus’ mobile banking app, including bill pay, consumer lending applications, and person-to-person payments.

Outgoing Chair Karen Snorek welcomed members to the Annual Meeting, where four directors were elected (three to three-year terms and one to a two-year term, respectively). The elected directors include:

  • Lori Trygg
  • Karen Foreman
  • David Johnson
  • Robyn Cousin

In addition, the Board of Directors named its table officers for the coming year, which includes a new chair, vice chair and secretary. The table officers include Trygg as Chair, Ron Rollins as Vice Chair, Foreman as Secretary and Johnson as Treasurer.

“As we move forward, we want our members to know we remain committed to the not-for-profit, cooperative banking model that makes Affinity Plus unique,” Larson said, welcoming member comments and feedback. “We look forward to partnering with you to strengthen the credit union now and into the future.”
