United Educators Credit Union - APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (May 2, 2016) - After 28 years of service as a volunteer Board Member for United Educators Credit Union (UECU), George Peper has retired from the credit union’s board. George has been a longtime resident of Willmar and is dedicated to supporting the needs of educators, both in the classroom and in their personal lives. In addition to serving on the board, George was a past member of Education Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year selection committee and active member of his Union Local. The former Willmar High School science teacher was recognized at UECU’s 58th Annual Meeting on April 25, 2016.

“George’s leadership and direction, as past Board Chair and long-time Board Member, helped guide and grow UECU to over $162 Million in assets and include more than 15,000 members through its purpose of serving educators throughout the state of Minnesota,” said Paul Dammann, President/CEO of UECU. “As an educator from Willmar, George represented other educators from our rural communities and areas outside the Twin Cities metro. His insight and concern for improving the lives of educators and their families will be missed.”

“UECU’s mission is to advance the financial well-being of members from the education community, their families, and those who support education through the United Educators Foundation,” said Dammann. “On behalf of the entire board, staff, and members of UECU, we are grateful to George for his devotion to serve the entire education community in Minnesota and for his role in giving youth the tools needed for financial capability.”

United Educators Credit Union was established in 1957 and is a member-owned, member-operated, not-for-profit financial institution, providing financial services to the Minnesota education community, their families, and those who support education by being a part of the United Educators Foundation. United Educators Credit Union offers a full line of financial services available online, and currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Eden Prairie, and Woodbury.
