HomeTown Credit Union’s Kurt Halverson Receives Customer Service Award by Faribault Area Chamber...

HomeTown Credit Union - FARIBAULT, Minn. (May 19, 2017) - HomeTown Credit Union Community Education Coordinator, Kurt Halverson, was a Customer Service Award recipient as part of the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism 2017 Business Awards for his work with Faribault Public Schools. Halverson works with local schools, businesses, non-profits and individuals to provide education, presentations and coaching on a variety of financial topics.   

“Kurt has been a great asset to our community through all of his volunteering,” said Brian Coleman, Service Learning Coordinator for Faribault Public Schools. “He helps at the schools educating students on all aspects of financial literacy. His investment of time and passion for helping all students have an understating of financial literacy is so valuable to all students.”

A business luncheon, hosted by Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, was held on May 11 at The Faribault Golf Club to honor award recipients.  

In addition to education on financial literacy, Halverson volunteers with newcomer classes to help students read and communicate as well as assists with ALC students. He helps conduct mock interviews and serves as a facilitator on the Faribault Community Education Advisory Council.

“Kurt is willing to help whenever, wherever needed,” Coleman said. “He shows a genuine interest in all students and continues to help students grow personally. Kurt has a unique gift to be able to engage people with conversation while educating them. He is a great person who provides top notch service to all people.”
