WDAZ (February 4, 2018) - For Amanda Robertson it’s her first visit to U.S. Bank stadium..
"It’s been very overwhelming, but it’s been fun," she said with excitement.
The woman from Bemidji never thought that trip would be for Super Bowl 52.
"It’s a one-time thing you can never do again," said Amanda.
Especially when the tickets are free.
"To this day it's still a shock," Amanda reacted.
Every time Amanda swiped her Visa card this fall she was entered into a contest through Affinity Plus to win two free tickets to the Super Bowl. The odds of winning, 1 in 7 million.
"I didn’t even know I was entered into this, apparently using my debit card, going out to eat for lunch and buying stuff apparently that got here where I am today," explained Amanda.
3 days before Christmas the bank called. She thought it was about a loan. But no, it was to have her come claim her tickets for the big game.
" I asked him if I was punked or scammed," Amanda recalled.
And Amanda didn’t hesitate on who was getting the second ticket.
"He does so much for me, I wouldn’t pick anyone else to go," she said.
Her dad Dean.
"I'm a lucky guy," he said.
Amanda and Dean aren’t rooting for either the Eagles or Patriots. They are lifelong Vikings fans.
"Everybody keeps saying who do you want to win,' I said I really don’t care, I just want overtime so we get the full deal out of this," said Dean.
While the tickets were free, the father and daughter time at the Super Bowl, priceless.
"It’s something we will never forget, something you can take with life," said Amanda.
Amanda and Dean said the only thing that could have made the game better, if it was some place warmer.
