Paul Ablack
Paul started OnApproach to specialize in leveraging organization’s data to support better decision making and drive profitability. Prior to starting OnApproach, Paul was Vice President/General Manager of energy information services for the Honeywell Automation & Control. His global responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of strategic planning, marketing, promotion, research and development and general management of the energy information services business.

Paul has also held a variety of key sales leadership and general management positions across the United States and Canada for both Honeywell and General Electric. Paul’s background includes experience in financial services, energy, manufacturing, andtechnology. VIEW SESSION

Josh Allison, CUDE
Josh is the Founder and Chief Ideator for Think Café, a consulting company committed to solutions for the new workplace. He has spoken and worked with organizations from Hawaii to New York and 25 states in between. Josh is a sought after public speaker and trainer, specializing in sales and service, business development and leadership topics for the finance and communication industries. Josh is also a Senior Consultant for FI-Strategies, LLC –one of the nation’s premier finance industry consulting companies.

In the past, Josh partnered with an Emmy winning TV show to develop a financial literacy program for use by schools across the country. In 2013, he worked alongside international credit unions to study best practices in Gen Y engagement in partnership with the WOCCU. VIEW SESSION

Matt Davis

Matt Davisis a leading thinker, writer, and doer in the credit union movement, and a pioneer in financial services gamification and innovation. Prior to founding gameFI, Matt led Filene's prestigious i3 program as the research institute's Director of Innovation. His work has been featured inFast Company,Bloomberg Businessweek,Yahoo! Finance,, and other national and international media. He is the founder of,, and 6th Story.

Matt was recognized as one of theTriad Business Journal’s 40 Business Leaders Under 40 (NC), a member of Filene’s 30 Under 30 group,Credit Union Magazine's "Credit Union Rock Stars," and theCredit Union Times' Trailblazers 40 Below. Matt has spoken for over a hundred audiences, ranging in size between 10 and 1,700, and guest lectured at University of California-Irvine and University of Wisconsin-Madison. VIEW SESSION

Robert Jarosinski

Robert Jarosinski is a senior consultant in Business Protection Risk Management for CUNA Mutual Group. In this role he is responsible for providing risk management consultation on a variety of topics with a focus on payments and security.

Jarosinski joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2014. Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group, Jarosinski held positions at Discover Financial Services, Capital One and HSBC. His roles included management consulting, mergers & acquisitions and risk management; all with a focus in the credit card industry. VIEW SESSION


Lawrence R. Jacobs
Lawrence R. Jacobs is the Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies and Director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance in the Hubert H. Humphrey School and the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota. His center is a preeminent hub for political and policy analysis in the Midwest.

  Jerry Kill
Kill was named Minnesota’s head coach on Dec. 7, 2010, and took the Gophers to heights not seen in recent years. In 2014, Kill led Minnesota to a January 1 bowl game for the first time since 1962 and coached the Gophers to wins against Michigan and Iowa, which had previously not happened in the same season since 1967. In 2015 Kill stepped away from college football with a career record of 156-102 and a 29-29 mark at Minnesota.

Amanda Kissner
Within the credit union industry, Amanda is the Grassroots Coordinator for WFCU and a member of the Family Involvement Council (FIC) since 2012.  She was selected as the Crew Ambassador of 2014 and this year was chosen to be a member of the Crew Advisory Group.  Amanda has participated in “Crash” events with the Cooperative Trust, a young professional group; where she attended the GAC and the CUNA Lending Council Conference both in 2014.  In 2015, Amanda started her first year at CUNA Management School in Madison, WI.

As Director of Community Affairs Amanda is responsible for building and fostering community and business relationships, marketing, community events and financial literacy initiatives, among other minor roles. VIEW SESSION

Rick Metsger

President Barack Obama nominatedRick Metsgerto serve on the Board of the National Credit Union Administration and he took the oath of office on August 23, 2013. Prior to joining the NCUA Board, Mr. Metsger owned his own strategic communications consulting firm focused on financial services, capital construction, energy and transportation issues.

Mr. Metsger previously served for 12 years in the Oregon State Senate, where he chaired the Business and Transportation Committee and served on committees with jurisdiction in the areas of education, revenue, the judiciary, human services and consumer protection. VIEW SESSION

Jim Nussle

Jim Nussle was named president and CEO of the Credit Union National Association in September 2014. Nussle, is a former eight-term congressman and director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Nussle served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991-2007 as a Republican representative from the State of Iowa. Nussle also served on the founding board of Growth Energy, a trade association of renewable energy companies and industry partners. He was recruited by his fellow board members in 2010 to help lead the organization as its President and COO.

Bridget Petersen
In her role as Market VP of Community Outreach for SPIRE, Bridget heads up the credit union’s Give Back initiatives, financial literacy outreach programs and public relations efforts. Bridget joined the SPIRE team through the Greater MN CU partnership in 2014. Prior to the merger, she was a 14-year VP of Human Resources and Training for Greater MN CU.

Bridget is passionate about promoting financial literacy initiatives and has diligently worked to develop and sustain programs for Greater MN and SPIRE Credit Unions since 2008. Her efforts have garnered 9 state-level and 3 national Desjardins Financial Literacy awards for these credit unions. She has been a member of the Minnesota Family Involvement Council (FIC) since 2005, serving as Chair since 2011. VIEW SESSION

Mark Sievewright
As President, Credit Union Solutions at Fiserv, Sievewright leads teams and solutions that process data and information for one third of U.S. credit unions and a growing number of international clients. In addition, he directs the innovation, development and distribution of value-added financial industry products and services ranging from wire processing to online account opening to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony systems.

With 30 years of financial services industry experience, Sievewright has held senior leadership roles at HSBC in London, MasterCard International in Brussels, and Payment Systems, Inc. where he served as president and CEO. Between 1999 and 2004, he served as president and CEO at the TowerGroup, a leading technology research and advisory firm for the financial services industry. VIEW SESSION

In Pursuit of the American Dream: An Interactive Panel Discussion
Bridget Petersen & Amanda Kissner, Minnesota Family Involvement Council

Focused on the complexities of attracting and engaging the youth workforce as well as membership, this session will include an interactive youth focus group, and is based on the content of our 2015 scholarship essays, which asked members for their interpretation of “The American Dream”. The recurring themes identified from reading the essays were pared down to 5 key components that can be utilized in the development of strategies to grow youth workforce and membership at your credit union.

There was a strong emphasis on individuality and personal goals with relation to attaining The American Dream. Our session will strive to deliver a unique glimpse into the youth market from the perspective of helping them grow their personalized American Dreams.

NCUA on Cybersecurity

Retail Analytics in Banking – How to Prevent Getting Ubered

Industries all over the spectrum are being threatened by the rise of new “big bang” competitors.  Startup companies are using nothing but data to oust large, established industry titans in a matter of a few years.  It started with Jeff Bezos’ (then crazy) idea to sell books online. It’s now 20 years later and Amazon is one of the biggest names in retail.  Big bang disruption may have started with Amazon but it has stopped there.  More recently, Uber came into the taxi industry with nothing more than mobile app and grab almost half of the market share from traditional taxis in 6 years.  Retail Banking is no exception to this looming threat.  It is only a matter of time before Retail Banking gets Ubered.  Find out how Retail Banking can prevent itself from being the next industry to get “big bang” disrupted.
