Minnesota’s Credit Unions elect Board of Directors, Approve Bylaw Amendment at MnCUN Annual Conference
Last week, 475 credit union professionals, volunteers, and vendors from all areas of Minnesota met for the 2017 MnCUN Annual Conference. Held at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington, the conference featured education sessions, the state’s largest credit union exhibit hall, Minnesota Credit Union Foundation committee fundraisers, and networking events.
Along with networking and education opportunities, conference attendees participated in the annual Business Meeting, which featured an overview of credit union accomplishments over the past year, as well as committee reports and Board elections.
This year three incumbents were re-elected, and one new member elected, to three-year terms on the MnCUN Board of Directors:
During the meeting, the Minnesota Credit Union Network membership approved a bylaw amendment to the organization’s Board of Directors structure. The previous structure consisted of nine seats based on geographic location and membership size. The approved bylaw change retains nine board seats: four for credit unions with less than 10,000 members and five at large seats available to all member credit unions. The changes were effective immediately following the in-person vote.
The 2016 MnCUN financial audits were also approved at the business meeting. Financial audits are available on the About Us page of the Network website.
Following the Business Meeting, Board table officers were elected. Dan Stolz of SPIRE will serve as Chair, Karen Fleming of HBI Employees will serve as Vice Chair, and Mary Hansen of Mayo Employees will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.
Paul Knorr of Accentra Credit Union concluded his time on the Board of Directors and was presented a framed painting of Minnesota’s state flower, the lady slipper, as a token of appreciation for his service to the Network.
The Minnesota Credit Union Network Annual Conference Exhibit Hall was held on Thursday, April 20 in Bloomington. The annual event offers employees and volunteers an opportunity to meet face-to-face with vendors focused on helping credit unions best serve their members.

Exhibiting companies were invited to participate in education sessions, fundraisers and networking events throughout the two-day conference. The next Minnesota credit union exhibit hall will be held in conjunction with the Fall Conference Sept. 8 through 10 in Brainerd.
