Help potential members find your CU by adding and updating aSmarterChoice information

Consumers across the country continue to discover credit unions – the smarter choice in the financial industry! uses news stories and member testimonials to educate consumers about credit unions. The national credit union locator on the site enables users to quickly and successfully find a credit union in their area. In addition, this website offers free marketing resources that credit unions can use to promote this valuable tool.

In 2014 consumers who used aSmarterChoice clicked on search result links to individual Minnesota credit unions nearly 2,000 times. To maintain that momentum, credit unions need to update their own information within the locator to ensure that it’s accurate and comprehensive. Take the time to review information posted for your credit union on the website. To edit your profile, visit's update your records page or contact Scott Shoberg at the Network office for login credentials.

Nominations Now Open for 2016 Wegner Awards

Credit union supporters are encouraged to nominate individuals and organizations for the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards to be presented by the National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation). Winners will be honored at the Foundation’s annual awards dinner on February 22, 2016 in conjunction with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington, D.C.

“The Foundation’s Wegner Awards are widely considered the highest national honors in the credit union movement, so we encourage you to nominate your best and brightest for these prestigious awards,” said Danielle Brown, Foundation Director of Donor Relations and Development.

Nominations need to be made by Friday, July 31 for the following awards:
