Entries must be received by June 30, 2017.

Complete award information is available on the Minnesota online entry page.

  • Desjardins Youth and Adult Financial Education Awards - recognizes the leadership of individual credit unions and chapters on behalf of youth and adult financial education. Activities eligible for consideration include those that raise awareness and marshal resources on behalf of financial literacy.

Statewide award winners are announced in August or September. Winning state entries advance to compete nationally, with national results typically available in late November to early December. National award recipients will be recognized at the 2018 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference February 25 to March 1.

Upcoming Financial Education Peer-To-Peer Session

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation is hosting a Financial Education Peer-to-Peer Session (P2P) for credit union financial education professionals on Thursday, June 29 at the MnCUN office in St. Paul. The P2P will focus on experiential learning programs and include a panel of financial educators.

According to the National Credit Union Foundation, experiential learning programs are simulations and exercises that mirror a taste of real life by involving a direct encounter with life situations rather than reading or thinking about such events. Examples include programs such as Reality Fairs, Retirement Fairs, and Life Simulations, designed to provide needed financial information, but more importantly, to be a catalyst for behavior change.

Full event information and registration is available online.

P2Ps provide credit union professionals the opportunity to participate in cooperative meetings to network and exchange ideas. A full list of upcoming P2P sessions can be found on the MnCUN calendar online.

Minnesota CU4Kids 22nd Annual Golf Tournament
