Registration open for MnCUN Fall Leadership Conference

The Minnesota Credit Union Network invites credit union professionals to its annual Fall Leadership Conference September 9 through 11. The conference will feature a credit union industry exhibit hall, education sessions, entertainment and networking opportunities.

Speakers will include the following:

Andy Janning - The president and founder of NO NET Solutions, Andy Janning is a nationally recognized expert in leadership, communication, and organizational development with over two decades of management and executive leadership experience.

Jeff Rendel - Jeff Rendel knows the financial services marketplace. With experience as a federal banking regulator, financial services executive, and Congressional lobbyist; he understands the balancing act of safety, soundness, sales, and strategy. As President of Rising Above Enterprises, Jeff works with credit unions that want elite results in leadership, sales, and strategy. Each year, he addresses and facilitates for nearly 100 credit unions and their business partners

Perc Pineda - Perc Pineda is a Senior Economist of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He tracks U.S. macroeconomic trends, conducts economic research, and writes articles for CUNA publications. He received his PhD (ABD) in Economics at the New School for Social Research in New York, NY and a Master of Arts in Economics at the American University in Washington, D.C. He also holds a Masters in International Management from the University of Maryland.

Minnesota Credit Union Foundation holds Financial Education P2P – Materials Available

Last week, the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation held a complimentary Financial Education P2P for credit union financial education professionals.

At the event, University of Minnesota Extension staff members Lori Hendrickson and Becky Hagen Jokela spoke about preparing to teach youth by creating a safe place to learn, learning styles and activity, and respecting culture and experiences. Hendrickson and Hagen also provided an overview of the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) and its free turnkey financial education program from grades 8-12, NEFE’s High School Financial Planning Program® (HSFPP).

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation encourages credit unions to access information about the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) financial education program online.

About Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Meetings P2Ps provide credit union professionals the opportunity to participate in cooperative meetings to network and exchange ideas.
