Credit Union Members in Minnesota Save $5 Million Through WINcentive Savings

WINcentive incentivizes healthy savings habits by offering consumers entries in monthly, quarterly, and annual cash drawings for increasing their account balance. In Minnesota, credit union members have opened more than 6,500 WINcentive Savings accounts, saving over $5.1 million through the program.

 

WINcentive Savings is offered at 23 credit unions in Minnesota. In April, WINcentive announced program eligibility for credit union members in Wisconsin. The Minnesota Credit Union Network and TruLync, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the association, also administer prize-linked savings programs in Delaware, Louisiana, New York, Montana, and Wisconsin.

2018 Association of Cooperative Educators Annual Institute: Fostering Co-op Innovation

The Annual Association of Cooperative Educators (ACE) Institute is the only annual conference in North America dedicated solely to the promotion of cooperative education and to the training of all cooperators. The event is a unique learning opportunity for professionals from all cooperative sectors and across national boundaries.

 

The 2018 Institute will be held at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Tuesday, July 24 through Thursday, July 26.

 

Event registration is available through the Association of Cooperative Educators. Education scholarships are available through the Ralph K. Morris Foundation.

Fall 2018 Peer-To-Peer Meetings

Credit union professionals are invited to join their peers at the Minnesota Credit Union Network’s fall Peer-to-Peer (P2P) sessions. P2P events are discipline-specific, providing an opportunity to learn from industry experts and other credit union staff in your field. Based on member feedback, the 2018 fallP2P sessions will include content, presentations and facilitated discussions in partnership with presenters.

Scholarships Available from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF) provides grants and scholarships to fund opportunities for credit union professionals and volunteers to continue their education and sustain the credit union movement. MnCUF is pleased to open two scholarship opportunities for attendance at industry trainings in 2019 – CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference and the National Credit Union Foundation’s Credit Union Development Educator Training.

 

Due to the advance preparations needed for both events, the application deadline is Aug. 31 and scholarships will be awarded by Sept. 30, 2018.

 

GAC Scholarship – The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) is the premier national event for political impact in the credit union industry, gathering thousands of industry leaders to remind legislators and regulators why credit unions are Americans' best financial partners. MnCUF will be offering multiple $1,500 scholarships to assist with registration and travel expenses for the 2019 CUNA GAC March 10 through 13 in Washington, D.C.

 

CUDE Scholarship –  A program of the National Credit Union Foundation, Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) Training brings renewed relevance to the philosophy of "People Helping People." This unique and transformative training provides critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy, and development issues, while incorporating challenges credit unions face today. MnCUF will be offering one $1,500 scholarship to supplement the cost of the training.
