Register Now for the 2017 MnCUN Fall Leadership Conference
The Minnesota Credit Union Network invites credit union professionals to its annual Fall Leadership Conference September 8 through 10 at Madden's Resort in Brainerd. The conference will feature a credit union industry exhibit hall, education sessions, entertainment, and networking opportunities.
Speakers will include:
Darryl Dahlheimer - Darryl is the Program Director for LSS Financial Counseling Service. He has written two financial education curricula, Four Cornerstones of Financial Literacy and Building Wealth in America and has been a financial counselor for more than 3,000 families.
Holly Duckworth - Author of the award-winning book Ctrl+Alt+Believe: Reboot Your Association For Success, Holly is an influential thought leader and faculty member for the US Chamber of Commerce IOM program and American Society of Association Executives conventions and online university.
Jim Kasch - Jim spent more than ten years with Partners Federal Credit Union, which serves The Walt Disney Company. In 2010, Jim was hired to be the Chief Executive Officer for Darden Employees Federal Credit Union (DCU) with one of the youngest and largest memberships in the country.
Tammie Kovacs - Tammie is a TruStage Program Sales Specialist with CUNA Mutual Group. In this role she aligns CUNA Mutual Group’s direct-to member marketing solutions with credit union objectives to deliver high- quality insurance products that help protect what matters most to members while generating credit union results.
Roger Tutterow - Roger is Professor of Economics at Kennesaw State University. He also serves as Director of the Econometric Center, an applied research center housed in KSU’s Coles College of Business. In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow has served as a consultant on financial economics and statistical modeling for corporate clients.

The Minnesota Credit Union Network is partnering with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP to provide member credit unions with CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) training.
The new allowance for loan loss standard - Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) was issued final in June 2016 and will be effective in 2021. Between now and then there are many options to consider. While there are numerous software packages that can help comply with CECL, this workshop will cover 3 of the options that can utilize an Excel spreadsheet to comply; historical loan losses, static pool analysis and year of vintage analysis.

For the first time, the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation will be offering scholarships for credit union staff and/or Directors to attend the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC). The 2018 GAC will be held February 25 through March 1, 2018 in Washington D.C.
The Foundation will be offering two $1,500 scholarships. The application deadline is August 31 and scholarships will be awarded by September 30, 2017 to ensure recipients have ample time to reserve travel and accommodations within the Minnesota GAC room block.

Preference will be given to applicants who have not attended GAC, are from credit unions under $100 million in assets, and have shown engagement with MnCUN and credit union advocacy. Applicants must represent a Minnesota Credit Union Network affiliated credit union.
