Upcoming Opportunities for Crew Members

The Crew is a group for young professionals – under 40 years old - working in the credit union movement in Minnesota. The Minnesota Credit Union Network hosts special sessions for Crew members at major MnCUN events as well as standalone Crew education sessions, happy hours, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.


The following opportunities are available for young professionals interested in deepening their industry involvement:


Crash the Fall Leadership Conference | Sept. 8-10 | Madden’s on Gull Lake

Scheduled for September 8 through 10, the Fall Leadership Conference features industry experts providing insight and relevant information on top credit union issues. Held at Madden's Resort in Brainerd, this event also offers attendees a variety of networking opportunities and recreation activities. MnCUN is offering deeply discounted Fall Leadership Conference registration to Crew members. More information about the Fall Leadership Conference is available online. Volunteer Opportunity | Sept. 14 | Minnesota State Fair Grounds

Join fellow Crew members to support the Arc Greater Twin Cities and Greater Twin Cities United Way for a ghoulish good time at the 14th annual A Celebration of Sorts on Thursday, September 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Volunteers will unpack, sort and tag donated Halloween costumes, clothing, and accessories in preparation for the opening of Arc's Value Village Halloween Boo-tique™. Proceeds from items sold at Arc's Value Village help fund vital programs and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. MORE INFORMATION


GAC Scholarships

This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to credit union staff and/or volunteers who are members of MnCUN and wish to attend the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference February 25 through March 1, 2018 in Washington D.C. The Foundation will be offering two $1,500 scholarships. The application deadline is August 31. GRANT APPLICATION.

Free Online Conference Delivers Insights on Planning Strategically in a Changing World

CUNA Mutual Group announced today registration is still open for its eighth annual, day-long Discovery Conference on Aug. 17. The conference brings together leading disruption experts and credit union leaders to help credit unions prepare for upcoming 2018 strategic planning sessions in a rapidly changing industry. The virtual, no-cost event is geared toward credit union CEOs and senior leadership teams.


Eight breakout sessions will take place between the opening and closing keynote addresses covering topics, including data and analytics, lending to millennials, and real-time payments. Attendees will explore pathways to improve credit union members’ financial health, learn how to become digital and effectively utilize mobile channels to reach more members, glean insights from CUNA’s 2018 environmental scan, and discover how the economy will affect 2018 strategic plans.


Throughout the day, attendees have opportunities to network with industry leaders, pose questions, participate in “hot topic” chats, and visit “inspiration stations” in the exhibit hall.
