Gov. Dayton declares Oct. 19 Credit Union Day in Minnesota
Gov. Mark Dayton recently signed a proclamation declaring Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, as Credit Union Day in Minnesota. The proclamation coincides with International Credit Union Day and this year’s theme of “Dreams Thrive Here.” Minnesota Credit Unions will unite with more than 56,000 credit unions around the world to celebrate how credit unions help people achieve their biggest goals in life.
As a founding father of the U.S. Credit Union Movement, Edward Filene once said that the cooperative movement, “is warmly, humanly passionate; and it is demonstrating day by day that there is more real satisfaction and more business success in working together for the common good.”
Thank you for working together to help your members achieve their dreams. Happy International Credit Union Day!
Women’s Leadership Network Anniversary Celebration
Please join the Minnesota Women’s Leadership Network on Tuesday, November 28, to celebrate the success of the group’s inaugural year. Credit union women and men are invited to learn more about this professional development initiative, and how the local chapter furthers the Global Women’s Leadership Network mission to provide women with the opportunity and resources to make a measurable difference in the lives of each other, in the lives of credit union members, and in their communities.
The event will include a presentation by Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions Global Women's Leadership Network Executive Director Calyn Ostrowski, a clothing drive for Dress for Success, and a reception.
