Credit Union Days at the Capitol Registration open

The Minnesota Credit Union Network’s annual Credit Union Day at the Capitol event provides crucial information about state political issues relevant to credit unions and offers the opportunity to build relationships with the state’s elected officials. In 2017, MnCUN will be hosting four separate Credit Union Days based on geographic region.

The Credit Union Days at the Capitol are scheduled as follows:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 25 - Arrowhead and Lakes & Pines Chapters
  • Thursday, Jan. 26 - Central & North Red River Valley Chapters
  • Tuesday, Jan. 31 - Archer Doig Chapter
  • Wednesday, Feb. 1 - Hiawatha and Southwestern Chapters

We at the Minnesota Credit Union Network strive to make our major events as valuable to you, our members, as possible. By holding regional Credit Union Days at the Capitol in 2017, we hope to provide more advocates with the ability to have constructive meetings with legislators on behalf of Minnesota’s credit unions.

Each Credit Union Day will include a legislative briefing and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Capitol Ridge followed by attendee meetings with legislators at the Minnesota State Capitol concluding at 4 p.m. The cost of this event will be $25.

Registration for the 2017 Credit Union Days at the Capitol is open until Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017.

With questions, contact MnCUN Director of Advocacy Ryan Smith by email or by phone at (651) 288-5533.

Get ready to line your lobbies with paper hearts! The Minnesota Credit Unions for Kids (MnCU4Kids) Committee is inviting you to participate in its 2017 Chain of Hearts campaign.

The Chain of Hearts is a statewide fundraiser that will run from Jan. 9 to Feb. 27, 2017. All proceeds benefit Gillette Children's Hospital, which helps kids with disabilities and chronic conditions. Gillette is based in St. Paul, with numerous clinics around the state.

During the fundraiser, credit union members and local businesses purchase paper links and hearts that are connected and hung in lobbies to help illustrate the "people helping people" philosophy of credit unions.

To participate, complete the fundraiser registration survey by Friday, December 9.

Chain of Hearts is an extremely simple fundraising event that is available to your credit union at no cost. For more information about this fundraiser, please contact MnCU4Kids Co-Chair Brad Scholl or MnCU4Kids liaison Becky Holst.
