Almost 3,900 Minnesotans have opened the prize-linked savings account WINcentive Savings and $2.6 million has been saved as of Nov. 30. Excitement is building for the $5,000 Grand Prize Drawing, which will be awarded January for entries made through Dec. 31.
As we look ahead to 2017, we’ll be hosting a 1-year anniversary event to celebrate the success of the program. Watch for more details coming soon. In addition, Pew Charitable Trust will be releasing its research study on the WINcentive Savings program first quarter. We will continue to celebrate milestones and winners throughout the year, and encourage more Minnesota Credit Unions to offer the program.
If you would like more information, or would like to set up a meeting to discuss incorporating WINcentive Savings into your credit union plans for 2017, contact Ryan Smith by email or by phone 651-288-5533 or 1-800-477-1034.

Last week, the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF) confirmed two new members to the organization’s Board of Directors.
The nominating committee held discussion regarding a number of possible candidates for the open Board positions, and selected Dana Garrett, CEO, North Memorial Federal Credit Union, Robbinsdale, and Doug Ralston, COO, Hermantown Federal Credit Union, Hermantown.
Garrett is a 21-year veteran of the credit union industry. She began her career in January 1996 as a teller for Power Credit Union in Pueblo, Colorado. She currently is the President/CEO of North Memorial Federal Credit Union in Robbinsdale where she has served since July 2012. Dana has previously held Board positions with the Pueblo School District 70 Education Foundation and the NW Iowa Chapter of Credit Unions. She currently sits on the North Memorial Foundation Finance Committee.
Doug Ralston is responsible for strategic development and operations management including lending, business development, marketing, member services, facilities and workplace culture. Doug has worked in the credit union industry for the past twenty years and is active within the credit union movement and the communities served by the credit union. Doug currently serves on the Hermantown Area of Commerce Board of Directors President, Arrowhead Chapter of Credit Unions Vice President, and CU Companies Board of Directors.
“On behalf of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation, I would like to welcome Dana and Doug to the Board of Directors,” said MnCUF Executive Director Lyndsay Miller. “I would also like to thank the outgoing Board members, Pat Brekken and Larry Champeaux, for their years of service and dedication to the Foundation.”
