MnCUN Welcomes Jill Nowacki to ACCELERATE 22

2/15/2022

Join your colleagues for the Minnesota Credit Union Network's ACCELERATE 22– our rebranded Annual Conference. The event is planned to be back on our regular schedule April 21-22, 2022 at the Radisson Blu MOA, Bloomington. MnCUN's biggest event of the year - these 2 days will feature guest speakers, educational sessions, networking, the state’s largest tradeshow and opportunities to support great causes. We are bringing back some favorite events and also have several new sessions planned.

We are pleased to welcome Jill Nowacki, President/CEO of Humanidei, a human capital strategies firm committed to making credit unions the workplaces and volunteer causes of choice for today’s workforce. Jill will be joining us to facilitate two breakout sessions at ACCELERATE 22:

The Talent Shortage: Myth or Reality? How Can You Respond? With millions of open jobs to fill, it is no surprise that credit unions are concerned about the shortage of talented workers. At the same time, the U.S. unemployment rate seems to indicate there is, in fact, enough labor to go around. Everything from changing employee expectations, unmatched skills, and strong unemployment benefits have been identified as contributors to the talent shortage. What matters more than why is that there seems to be a shortage on what can be done about it. This session will review current employment trends and share ideas for how your credit union can take steps to win the war for talent—no matter how competitive it gets!

Pretty Good for a Girl: hosted by the Minnesota Women’s Leadership Network
When people must overcome key parts of who they are to fit in, organizations do not reap the benefits of diversity. This session takes a look at how assimilation, tokenism, and imposter syndrome get in the way of inclusion, while providing specific insights into issues of gender at work. Lessons learned can be applied to creating a more inclusive organization for all people.

Registration for Accelerate 22 is now open!

MnCUN is committed to the wellbeing of all attendees, guests, sponsors, speakers, and staff as we return to in person events. We will follow the current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and state and local governments that are in effect at the time of the conference. Staff will continue to monitor the situation leading up to and at the event, and communicate any possible changes with attendees.

With questions, contact MnCUN Vice President of Communications and Engagement Andrea Molnau or Director of Engagement Ben Hering.

Moving from Awareness to Action: 2022 Consumer Consideration Initiative

2/15/2022

Minnesota was the first state to launch the national Credit Union Consumer Awareness Initiative in 2019 and since then, has seen both increased average membership growth and consumer familiarity of credit unions. The campaign’s digital-first strategy positions research-proven messages to put credit unions at the center of consumer consideration when needing a financial service.

See the update Minnesota Credit Union Network President & CEO Mark Cummins gave about Credit Union Awareness in CUInsight.

The initiative promotes the consideration of credit unions to consumers statewide through a cooperative advertising effort, and is an important element of MnCUN’s 50x30 goal – 50% of Minnesotans belonging to a credit union by 2030. As we enter the fourth year of the initiative, we are excited to debut a new national creative platform to help move consumers from awareness to action, and align messaging with advocacy and financial inclusion efforts.

Thank you to the credit unions who have committed to support this ongoing effort with a contribution to the MnCUN Awareness Fund. Contributors to the 2022 campaign will receive use of new marketing materials; plus preferred placement on the campaign’s credit union locator – www.youmoneyfurther.com. We are excited to introduce further enhancements and new features coming this spring including an enhanced locator and lead generation tools.

The campaign represents the true spirit of the cooperative movement to help consumers understand the advantages being a credit union member. With questions, please contact Andrea Molnau, VP Communications & Engagement, by email or 651-288-5527. We look forward to continued success in 2022!
