Interagency Effort to Reduce Regulatory Burden: On July 25, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System announced their second notice in the Federal Register requesting comment to reduce regulatory burden.
Joint Statement on Bank Arrangements with Third Parties for Deposit Products and Services: On July 25, the OCC, FDIC, and Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System also announced a statement reminding banks of potential risks associated with third-party arrangements to deliver bank deposit products and services. The Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act: The Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act of 1996 (EGRPRA) requires that regulations prescribed by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (the agencies) be reviewed by the agencies at least once every 10 years. The deadline to apply for the Trailblazers Executive Readiness Training program has been extended to Friday, August 2.
MnCUN’s Trailblazers Executive Readiness Training program is a 12-month program designed to accelerate executive level leadership skills and build credit union specific knowledge needed to succeed in our industry. Having high-potential leaders in the pipeline is critical for credit unions and the industry. Designed by Minnesota Credit Union professionals – the program is intended to prepare emerging leaders for executive level positions. Topics include Leadership Skills, Credit Union Financials, Credit Union Operations, and Strategic Planning & Growth. Courses will be facilitated by both experts in the field and current credit union leaders. Upon completion participants will receive a Minnesota Credit Union Executive Leadership Certification. The cohort will meet the second Thursday of the month for 12 months – virtually and in person – providing participants the opportunity to build a close network of colleagues. Join the upcoming Board of Directors Peer-to-Peer (P2P) on Wednesday, August 21 starting at 3:30 p.m. in person.
This will be an open format session that will allow for Directors from credit unions across the state to network and discuss topics on what Directors need to know. Participants can expect training on balance sheet and income statements and learn what is most important on a call report. Discussions will include governance and best practices, and we'll share strategies for recruitment and discuss what it takes to be a highly effective board. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
