The Tristate Mentorship Match is a 12-month program designed to build, grow, support, and inspire credit union professionals in their careers and commitment to the credit union movement. It envisions relationships based upon commitment, common goals and expectations, and mutual trust and respect -- relationships that allow both the mentee and mentor to grow in the process.
This program is a partnership of the Minnesota Credit Union Network, Montana’s Credit Unions, and the Wisconsin Credit Union League. We aim to expand our reach and bring our collective members a rich and diverse opportunity to network and grow. You’ll get to select if you prefer a Minnesota match or a match from another state. Apply by August 16, 2024. The Minnesota Credit Union Employee Benefits Plan is an association health plan through which Minnesota credit unions and credit union service organizations (CUSOs) can offer health benefits to their employees. The plan utilizes the cooperative model by allowing eligible credit unions and CUSOs to come together, as if they were one large employer, to purchase and offer benefits. By coming together like this, credit unions and CUSOs have more bargaining power, can reduce cost and risk volatility by spreading those costs and risks over a larger group, and have more options to offer employees and their families.
To qualify, a credit union must be based in Minnesota and a member of the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN). A CUSO is eligible if it is partly owned by a MnCUN Member credit union and is headquartered in Minnesota. For more details and to request a quote, please visit the Minnesota Credit Union Employees Benefits Plan page. Those who have obtained the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation are required to recertify every three years to ensure that knowledge about financial counseling is current.
CCUFC professionals in Minnesota have the option to receive re-certification with the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation. This opportunity includes a virtual refresher training provided by CU Difference on September 12 from 2:30-4:40 pm, and a copy of the CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program Update ebook. The deadline to register is August 16, 2024. With questions contact Andrea Molnau, Executive Director MnCU Foundation. This summer, MnCUN contacted all candidates running for elected positions in Minnesota to inquire about their views on credit union issues. We invite you to review the survey results and see where the candidates stand. If you are unsure of which elected officials represent you or your credit union, visit the GREAT website.
