TruLync Medicare Advisors is expanding its statewide service to Minnesota credit unions by hiring two experienced and licensed insurance agents, Amy Banker and Tammy Kausch. Amy Banker TruLync Medicare Advisors, a subsidiary of the Minnesota Credit Union Network, is a licensed insurance agency helping credit union members navigate Medicare enrollment. Partnered with eight state Medicare providers, TruLync ensures members get the information needed to choose the best plan. Currently, 34 credit unions participate in the program and are prepared to help members with Open Enrollment. Amy Banker has over 20 years of experience selling Medicare and is passionate about helping clients navigate through Medicare options to find the right plan. She has run her brokerage based in Otsego, MN for the past three years and will support clients in the Twin Cities area. Tammy Kausch Tammy Kausch was the top agent executive for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota in Duluth and North Market. She will work with members of Members Cooperative Credit Union, Superior Choice Credit Union, and those living in Duluth and northern Minnesota. Tammy will be available to help the 30,000 Minnesotans impacted by Essentia Health’s decision to no longer accept Medicare Advantage plans administered by Humana and UnitedHealthcare. “We are excited to add capacity and expertise to support credit union members around the state navigate Medicare,” said Mara Humphrey, President & CEO of the Minnesota Credit Union Network. “Helping members save money on their Medicare plans is just another example of the credit union advantage. CFPB Supervisory Highlights Wrongdoing On Auto Loans: On October 7, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau published Supervisory Highlights announcing its findings related to illegal practices in auto financing including lender repossessions after timely payments and loan extensions.
CFPB Announces Rulemaking on Consumer Credit, Lease Transactions, and High-Priced Mortgages: On October 4, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFB) and Federal Reserve Board announced dollar thresholds to determine whether certain consumer credit and lease transactions in 2025 are subject to protections in Reg Z (Truth-In-Lending) and Reg M (Consumer Leasing). Post Chevron Doctrine Administrative Regulatory Precedent: After the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. U.S. Department of Commerce, ending the 40-year old Chevron Deference Doctrine to administrative agencies, courts are starting to address the preservation of regulatory agency precedent for consideration. Nearly 150 credit union professionals, board members and sponsors attended LEAD 24 at Madden's on Gull Lake in Brainerd last week. General and Breakout Sessions throughout the event were designed for both credit union professionals and board members; focusing on leadership development, an election update and insights to accelerate credit unions. Networking and recreational activities included a golf and cornhole tournament, bingo and receptions with event sponsors. Attendees also made tie blankets for patients at Gillette Children's for donation on CU Forward Day. Additionally, the 2023-2024 Trailblazer Executive Readiness cohort presented their credit union case studies during a breakout session while the new cohort kicked off the 12-month program. MnCUN’s Trailblazers Executive Readiness Training program is designed to accelerate executive level leadership skills and build credit union specific knowledge needed to succeed in our industry. |
