Save the Date! New Tristate Collaborative Leadership Conference coming to Minnesota this August3/5/2024
The Tristate Collaborative Leadership Conference, hosted by the Minnesota, Montana, and Wisconsin Credit Union Associations, is a new event that will focus on accelerating leadership skills and building credit union knowledge for the next generation of leaders. The event will be held August 5th and 6th at the JW Marriott Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.
Content will include general sessions and breakouts, with expert speakers sharing practical skills, inspirational stories, and how to incorporate credit union principles into your leadership journey. Plus, attendees will have plenty of time to network with credit union colleagues from across our region. We highly encourage CREW, Women's Leadership Network, Trailblazers, and Tristate Mentorship participants to attend. Watch for more information and registration to open in May. TruLync Medicare Advisors held a webinar last week to share the results of the 2023 pilot program; expansion plans for 2024; and details about how your credit union can provide this impactful service to your members. CFPB Supervisory Powers Clarified: On February 23, the agency made its 2022 supervisory order of installment lenders public to provide transparency about how it assesses risks using consumer complaints and other factors for avoidance of posing of those risks to consumers.
B3E is Coming July 2025: Basel III Endgame (B3E), banking regulations will begin phasing in on July 1, 2025, with full implementation by July 1, 2028. NCUA Minority Depository Institution Preservation Program (MDIPP): On February 23, the agency published its final Interpretive Ruling and Policy Statement (IRPS) for credit unions on MDIPP effective March 23, 2024, to preserve and grow minority depository institutions. Pending Supreme Court and Legal Updates Involving Financial Services: This term, the United States Supreme Court has heard oral arguments in several cases impacting regulation and financial services. Minn. Climate Innovative Finance Issues Request for Information on Financial Products and Programs: Last year, the Minnesota legislature passed a bill to create the Minnesota Climate Innovative Finance Authority (MnCIFA, or sometimes called a "green bank") that is designed to focus on two funding sources.
The first spring Peer-to-Peer (P2P) will focus on AI and its Impact on Credit Unions. The virtual session will include a speaker and then break into department areas for smaller group peer discussion on how AI pertains to various teams.
