Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) is a national nonprofit collaboration that unites the entire credit union industry to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Driven by the core credit union philosophy of "people helping people," it serves as the official charity of choice for the credit union movement. Globally, the collaborative efforts of over 4,000 credit unions, leagues, chapters, and business partners make the industry the fifth-largest corporate sponsor of CMN Hospitals. More than $195 million has been generated since the national program officially formed in 1996.
Minnesota Credit Unions for Kids (MnCU4Kids) supports Gillette Children’s based in St. Paul, with clinics throughout the state.
Since 1996, MnCU4Kids has raised over $9 million! Reaching over 29,000 unique patients annually, Gillette Children’s does vital work for kids facing complex conditions and the Minnesota credit union community clearly plays a massive role in making that specialized care possible

Children’s Miracle Network

The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for hospitals and programs across North America. In Minnesota and western Wisconsin, funds raised by Children’s Miracle Network benefit Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota. Gillette provides specialized health care for children who have disabilities and complex medical conditions, helping them improve their health, achieve greater well-being, and enjoy life.

100% of the funds raised locally benefit Minnesota and western Wisconsin children, regardless of their family’s race, religion, background or ability to pay for services.

Resources for Credit Unions

Marty Kelly of Members Cooperative Credit Union joins host Bill Raker, to discuss the mission and accomplishments of Credit Unions for Kids. Marty begins by explaining how credit unions, as financial cooperatives, differ in philosophy and purpose from other financial institutions. Then he talks about how Credit Unions for Kids, a committee of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, raises funds for its sole beneficiary -- the support of Gillette Children's Hospital. The fund raising events and activities Marty describes have raised some $5 million for Gillette during its 30+ year history. Hear the personal story of how one child benefitted from the program.
