Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues & business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities that benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As our adopted charity of choice, credit unions are the 3rd largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals.
Minnesota CU4Kids
​Minnesota Credit Union for Kids (MnCU4Kids) supports Gillette Children’s based in St. Paul, with clinics throughout the state. Since 1996, MnCU4Kids has raised over $3 Million. MnCU4Kids is a grassroots effort for Gillette Children’s, who provides specialized healthcare for kids who have brain, bone and movement conditions, helping improve their health, achieve greater well-being and enjoy life. In 2024, funds raised for MnCU4Kids benefitted children from all counties in Minnesota, 41 states and territories, and 11 countries.

Children’s Miracle Network

The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for hospitals and programs across North America. In Minnesota and western Wisconsin, funds raised by Children’s Miracle Network benefit Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota. Gillette provides specialized health care for children who have disabilities and complex medical conditions, helping them improve their health, achieve greater well-being, and enjoy life.

100% of the funds raised locally benefit Minnesota and western Wisconsin children, regardless of their family’s race, religion, background or ability to pay for services.

Resources for Credit Unions

Marty Kelly of Members Cooperative Credit Union joins host Bill Raker, to discuss the mission and accomplishments of Credit Unions for Kids. Marty begins by explaining how credit unions, as financial cooperatives, differ in philosophy and purpose from other financial institutions. Then he talks about how Credit Unions for Kids, a committee of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, raises funds for its sole beneficiary -- the support of Gillette Children's Hospital. The fund raising events and activities Marty describes have raised some $5 million for Gillette during its 30+ year history. Hear the personal story of how one child benefitted from the program.
